Christian Wessels is a poet and critic. He is the author of Who Follow the Gleam (University of Massachusetts Press, April 2026), selected for the Juniper Prize for Poetry.

He is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Poetry at the University of Rochester. He received his PhD in English from UR and his MFA from Boston University.

His poems have appeared in The Kenyon Review, The Yale Review, and Conjunctions, among other such outlets. His critical and scholarly work has appeared in Cleveland Review of Books, Los Angeles Review of Books, Middle Eastern Literatures, and Literary Imagination.

He splits his time between New York and the Black Forest with his wife, media scholar Tanja Beljanski, and their daughter.
